Sharing the Joy

Ferko's Fine Jewelry

Editor’s Note
Mother’s Day always brings up a lot of feelings for me. It makes me think about my family, but it also reminds me how much of who we are is shaped during ordinary days; the little rituals we repeat, the habits we pick up, and the way we learn to notice beauty and hold on to meaning.

In many ways, that is how Ferko’s began; in the middle of real life, motherhood, and all the beauty and chaos that come with it. Maybe that is why jewelry has always meant more to me than something simply pretty.

For this month’s edit, I wanted to celebrate the women who shape us, inspire us, and care for us in lasting ways, whether they are mothers or or simply nurturing souls by nature.
Love,
Ferko

Ferko’s Icons:

Like Mother Like Jewels

Style is usually absorbed over years of watching someone get dressed. And if that someone is a celebrity mother, chances are the jewelry drawer looked more interesting than most. For Mother’s Day, we looked at a few famous mothers and daughters whose style seems to run on the same instinct.

Meryl Streep & Grace Gummer

On the Devil Wears Prada 2 press tour, Meryl wore her jewelry that is designed to evoke the refined, powerful aesthetic of her character. Grace, meanwhile, spent her Love Story press tour playing a woman so defined by her jewels that the costume team sourced a reissued version of Jackie Onassis's original Apollo 11 earrings.

Kate Hudson & Goldie Hawn

Kate picked her mother as her Oscars date, and both arrived in diamonds. Kate wore rare green diamond earrings and a matching necklace, while Goldie appeared in a black halter gown with a diamond tennis bracelet.

Melanie Griffith & Dakota Johnson

Dakota’s stylist once said her love of sparkle came from watching her mother in sequined gowns. At the Splitsville premiere, Dakota wore diamond drop earrings and a matching bracelet with a silver strapless gown. Melanie arrived in a cream suit and a simple chain necklace.

Cindy Crawford & Kaia Gerber

Kaia has said she looks up old photos of her mother to see whether a look will work on her own face. At the 2025 LACMA Gala, Cindy let an embellished gold gown do most of the talking and wore drop earrings with a matching mesh bracelet, and Kaia went for a different pair of drop earrings.

BEAUTY

The Case for Peptides

Beauty has moved on from miracle claims and dramatic before-and-afters. The mood now is steadier, smarter, and far more interested in what actually holds up over time.

That is where peptides fit in. They help support the skin’s natural building blocks, including collagen and elastin, which tend to decline with age. The appeal is not transformation overnight. It is skin that looks a little firmer, a little fresher, and more like itself on a very good day.

The results are slow and convincing. Skin looks rested, replenished, and like itself, only more so. The results are slow and convincing. Skin looks rested, replenished, and like itself, only more so. For those with highly sensitive skin who cannot tolerate retinal or retinol, peptides are a gentler option.

And right now, that kind of slow, restorative result is exactly what people are looking for.

Art of Gifting

Mother’s Day gifting, The Ferko’s Way

Mother’s Day has always separated the thoughtful from the convenient. While a last-minute bouquet says you remembered, the right piece of jewelry shows you paid attention.

Fine jewelry has always been a good choice because it beautifully carries a personal detail; like a name, an initial or maybe a date. And those details are the ones that make the gift feel intimate, specific, and hers.

That’s why this month’s Spark of Joy feels right for Mother’s Day. The 14K Sliding Diamond Initials Bangle is beautiful, personal, and just indulgent enough. Her initials, her children’s, her grandchildren’s, or a letter that means something only she would understand, set in diamond and gold.
That’s a piece she will never want to take off, because she’ll know it was chosen with only her in mind.

What We Carry From Our Mothers

From our mothers, we absorb the things that matter long before we know how to describe them. We learn how to be generous without turning it into a performance. We learn how to carry ourselves with dignity, how to make other people feel seen, and how to move through life with both strength and grace. We learn to care for the people around us, and for other living beings too. We learn that character is built over time, through daily gestures, steady values, and decency.

And somewhere alongside all of that, we learn how to walk into a room, when a look is done, and which pieces are worth keeping.

Those lessons tend to stay with us. They shape the way we dress, the things we hold on to, and the meaning certain objects gather over time.

Ferko’s Loop comes from that same belief; that what is precious should not be wasted, and that beautiful things can keep meaning something in a new form. Through Ferko’s Loop, old gold pieces can be turned into credit toward something new.

A Mother’s Day Well Spent

Mother’s Day tends to feel most memorable when it is shaped with attention. It might be a long lunch at a restaurant she has always loved, or an afternoon wandering through a neighborhood that she likes to walk. It might be old photographs pulled out over coffee that turn into stories you have never heard before, or a flower market visited on a whim that becomes the best part of the day. And it might be something that arrives in a box, wrapped carefully, because sometimes the best things come in small packages.

A Final Note

Whatever shape this Mother’s Day takes, the intention behind it is what she will feel most. A long lunch, a thoughtful afternoon, a beautifully chosen gift, or some combination of the three can all become part of a beautiful memory when they come from the heart.

Have a lovely Mother’s Day.

We’ll be back next month with more of what we’ve been loving lately and saving to share with you.
